This supplement presents multidisciplinary research addressing clinical innovation, disease burden, risk prediction, treatment outcomes, and public health challenges in low- and middle-income settings. The included studies span urology, surgery, hematology, oncology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pediatrics, dentistry, reproductive health, radiology, and critical care. Urological investigations examine inpatient morbidity patterns and provide imaging-based reference measurements of ureteral anatomy. Surgical studies evaluate survival and quality of life after laparoscopic gastrectomy, three-dimensional assessment of breast augmentation outcomes, and the diagnosis and management of postoperative peritonitis. Further clinical research assesses the performance of extended depth-of-focus intraocular lenses, treatment approaches and survival outcomes in ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma, and the diagnostic and prognostic value of immature platelet fraction in immune thrombocytopenia. A mechanistic study explores TNF-α/ERK1/2-mediated activation of Notch-1/Hes-1 signaling in rheumatoid arthritis synoviocytes. Pediatric investigations identify prognostic coagulation abnormalities in septic shock and factors associated with severe pneumonia, including prematurity, underlying disease, incomplete vaccination, and lower caregiver education. Public health studies document a substantial burden of early childhood caries and examine determinants of pregnancy termination among married women in Lesotho. Collectively, these studies demonstrate the value of accessible biomarkers, advanced imaging, minimally invasive interventions, context-specific risk assessment, and targeted preventive strategies. The supplement provides locally generated evidence with broader relevance for strengthening clinical decision-making, improving continuity and quality of care, and reducing preventable morbidity and mortality in resource-constrained health systems.
